About My Bodywork

Cheryl Lang Flanders has committed over 15 years of academic and hands-on Bodywork, Athletic Training, Personal Training, and Nutritional Guidance to relaxing the mind, balancing the body, and nurturing the Spirit.

Cheryl developed an interest in Bodywork after working at the Pain and Back Care Clinic, where the emphasis was placed on utilizing the therapeutic benefits of massage. Soon after, she received her Massage Therapy certification from The International School of Bodywork (IPSB), Pacific Beach CA in 1993. Cheryl followed suit academically by receiving her B.S. degree in Athletic Medicine with honors in 1994 from San Diego Sate University. After obtaining her Athletic Training Certification (ATC), in 1996, Cheryl spent the next two years as an SDSU Aztec’s Athletic Trainer while pursuing her Masters Degree in Sports Medicine. She also continued to expand her knowledge of bodywork techniques by pursuing additional courses in Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Structural Integration, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and Postural Assessment/Functional Therapy.

This unique blend of Sports Medicine and Bodywork opened the door for her to receive the opportunity of working at the ARCO Olympic Training Center in San Diego, CA. Over the last five years she has had the honor of working with the following U.S. Men’s and Woman’s Teams: Rowing, Canoe/ Kayak, Track and Field, Field Hockey, Soccer, Softball, and Archery as well as individual elite professionals.

Since 1999, Cheryl has worked out of OrthoSport Health Center and has treated multiple cases of upper and lower extremity dysfunctions (Carpal Tunnel, Sciatica). The Center's mission is to offer a comprehensive treatment of structural, physical and emotional balance. Cheryl's joy in sharing in the healing process continues to attract a diverse clientele as she strives to make each individual feel connected to their own regenerative healing power - BALANCE, CLEANSE, AND HEAL.
